I take my horse portraits very seriously. It seems to me that if you want an exact replica of what any horse looks like on a given day, there are plenty of cameras out there to help you with that. You need an artist only if you want to capture the mood of the day, the character of the horse, the feeling of the moment frozen in time. There's a point where the camera just doesn't cut it. That's where an artist steps in.

This is one of the reasons why I prefer to take my own reference photos when I take on a portrait commission; it's important to me to meet my subject and learn more about their personality and the nuances of their appearance. I work closely with the client to create a portrait that meets or exceeds their expectactions.

Portraits make great gifts as well -- I offer gift certificates and payment plans. Please contact me with any questions!

My equestrian work was featured in the prestigious American Academy of Equestrian Art Fall Exhibition and can be seen during the year at many Virginia horse shows.

It has also been featured in Horses in Art and American Carriage Driver's spring 2007 issues.
